This is a great story, and it is telling of certain institutional policies that are ridiculous for no apparent reason.

Worth the read, and worth it to bring up to a PTA meeting if your child’s school is run like this.

These rules should rarely be enforced, if for no other reason than to keep my taxes from being thrown away on frivolous poppycock.

Waffle House News: Mickelson’s Buying, Someone’s Dying

I was looking up the link to the news that Phil Mickelson was part of a bid to buy the Waffle House chain on Google News.

Not to my surprise, right below the link I found there was this story:

” Man Beaten, Dies At Jacksonville Waffle House”

All of this came up just right after a Twitter-er made a crack about the chain’s “3am drama” on the new ESPN show SportsNation. Like Ron Artest or Manny Ramirez, this food chain has its share of crazy moments. No way in hell I would turn down an offer to buy a Waffle House. The food is the shit, I don’t care how hick I sound saying it.

Congratulations Phil. Even if you don’t get ownership, bravo for trying. I miss that place so much.

Bill Burr’s Performance on the New Conan O’Brien

I thought he was amazing, considering that there was a great deal of material that this guy couldn’t drag out on a network station. More surprisingly was the material he was able to churn out on the stage ( a bit about suicide, another about a stripper named Jupiter ).

Overall, it seemed that he wasn’t getting the assumed response from the audience as he should, so his joke transitions were apparent and kinda awkward.

I can’t fault him for this. He had a good run of jokes, but the audience for some odd reason didn’t “get” it. Surprising, since he was amazingly funny. I even felt awkward for laughing when everyone else wasn’t laughing ( to make sure you understand, I was watching this at home, and wasn’t actually there ).

I had to write this because if you had watched it and tried to gauge the humor by the audience response, you would’ve got a false positive. Very strange, one of the few moments I can think of when someone is really funny but not getting the reaction one would expect from the Tonight Show fans.

Bill Burr, if you are reading this, bravo on your performance, and too bad the audience wasn’t riveted by your work. The observational humor was too straight-forward for such confusing lulls during your set.

Adderall and Cigarettes

I walk outside to witness a very serene warm midnight. The moon is nowhere to be seen, his appearance would embellish the memory of tonight. But tonight, I faithfully indulge and imbue the good whiskey spirits and a good touch of a stimulant that will keep my eyes good and white for the next couple of hours.

What a concoction when one adds the nicotine stick into the equation. Lighting it up, placing it on your mouth, and inhale. Holding the heavy smoke only enhances the aura of movement, of motion, of activity.

Poor is it to let this feeling pass with conversation or diversion. No. One must sit still, and embrace this potion of serenity. The buzzing of nicotine in the veins, so far now from reality that I am complacent to feel it. I will head back to reality, but for only a minute I request to be left to the power of stimulant and stimulant.

Let the feeling flow through me, so I can be free, and all stress exchanged to a silent active glee.

Yea, I have been on hiatus for a long time. I have been on a mission to build a sports analysis site, I have been trying to get exposure for this site, and I have taken the road to Mecca. Not in the truest form, but it was my only and my final voyage to see the spectacle that is, in a preterite sense, Yankee Stadium.

But I would like you to know that I am back, and I will be better than ever. There is no other sports blog in Boston that is better, so you might as well erase all your bookmarks, and get up on this site whenever you can.

I have heard rumors that she isn’t feeling the crazy spotlight that has come upon her attractiveness, and feel it is going against her perception as an athlete. I find her very pretty, but I do understand that it may be overwhelming ( considering she is just walking into her first college year ). I can’t sit here and prohibit myself from showcasing her, but if you do exist, congrats on being an incredible athlete. If you find this and don’t want these pictures up, let me know.

Yahoo! Sports 4th Place Medal Blog, articles dedicated to detailing the events of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has an investigative unit that reports Olympic mysteries in the minds of the faithful audiences.

One thing that has grabbed everyone’s attention was Michael Phelps and his mother celebrating his record-breaking 8th gold win for this year’s Olympics. What was also on everyone’s mind was that his other parent, his father, was nowhere to be seen.
